Buttermilk Cheddar Biscuits
Tonight was one of those night, where I choose to serve breakfast for dinner…or ‘Brenner’ as many people call it.My thought was to make scrambled eggs and regular biscuit with some hashbrowns. Then I started browsing FN and came across this cheddar biscuit.I had every ingredients,so I thought, lets change thing a bit and try it out. And,I am sooo glad that i tried.
It was fluffy and soft and everything which my handmade biscuits are not,in a good way.I was taken by complete surprise that how good they turn out.Needless to say everyone loved it.I followed the recipe verbatim till the egg wash for Buttermilk Cheddar Biscuits here.
Yummy Notes :
- One little difference was,my biscuits were done in 10 mins, half the time recipe calls for.Not sure because I was using bake-convection.It was fully cooked and it was AMAZING.
- I felt it was little salty for my taste when I made it first time,so next time I reduced the amount of salt to 1 tsp and it was just right.
- I also divided the dough in 2 dozen small rectangles next time and it came out perfect.
- I made the dough ahead of time, cut in rectangles/squares and put in refrigerator until ready to bake and it worked fine.Individually wrapping and freezing it for later on is my next step to try.
