Pumpkin Round Up

Pumpkin Round Up

As fall tiptoed in this corner of world and crisp air filled up the morning,i noticed changes around..leaves  changing colors ..nippy walking down the woods…we noticed the arrival of   orange pumpkin everywhere…outside the home doors and stacked in the stores and the pumpkin patch !

Truth  be told or you may already know by this time,if you are keeping up with my blogs that people in our home, myself included, are not a pumpkin fan.So i challenged myself to use pumpkin in as many ways as i can in this fall.Reason were simple.

  • First and formost, pumpkin is good for us,nutrition wise.
  • I believe in enjoying seasonal produce to its fullest extent.
  • I believe it is not wise to ostracize a produce/food item “unlikeable” without trying enough couple of times, prepared differently every time.

So we started off with muffins.Pumpkin Streusel muffin that is.

Then we added cardamom to  the flour, just so the aroma can fill my kitchen as we fused east and west,by bringing “Indian Chai” to the equation. We had Pumpkin Cardamom Chai bread!

Next we took a savory turn and made pumpkin Squash rice.

We had friends coming over and whats better time to try new recipes when you can use your friends as guinea pigs for your foodie experiments ,so we tried

Pumpkin Brownies and ..

Pumpkin donut holes

We were not ready to take a break just yet,so we added a touch of molasses and we had

pumpkin molasses cookies
