Stacey’s Grilled Cheese Sandwiches

Stacey’s Grilled Cheese Sandwiches

Grilled Cheese Sandwiches. Is it even blog worthy?Yes it is.Quintessential lunch for American Kids. This simple and easy fare is such a common part of kids menu here that word ‘special’ has long been detached from it ,like we would treat ‘Roti-Bhujiya’ in North  or ‘Idli-Dosa’ in South India, everyday food of everyday people, effortlessly prepared and thoughtlessly enjoyed.

I had heard about it barely but did not know what it is,how it looked and how it was prepared until we had kids and I started doing playdates. Those who grew up here might laugh and be astonished to know that but that’s the truth. It is as American as it can get and even now it does not make the menu list as much as you would think,in my house.I forget about it.But when it does,it is well enjoyed by my kids.Specially if it is not prepared by me because I can’t help skimping  on butter(I know blah health reason). So was the day when my friend Stacey came over,I asked her to prepare it for kids lunch.I am telling you I can happily eat them for lunch. So this is what goes into this very classic American kids lunch.Doesn’t it look mouth watering?

See how easy it is.That’s the key of its  popularity.Of course, you can make it more grown up version by upping the game in cheese and bread department and may be by adding some extra topping.

  1. Yum! I didn’t start making grilled cheese sandwiches until my daughter turned 3 last year, and I don’t have an excuse…I’ve lived in the US all my life!
