Decade ago when i came here,my knowledge of meat cuts ,names and products were non – existent .Back home,we ate chicken and fish mostly,mutton occasionally.Indians(Hindus) abstain from eating red meat such as beef and pork and being raised in the family it shaped my taste buds strongly. When i came here,it seemed like i was bombarded with meat vocabulary.’Deli’ was a new word for me and eating ‘cold meat’ was inconceivable.To this day,i am not a fan of deli meat and cold sandwiches.I would eat that for the lack of better option.Though now,that i am a Christian,i still don’t prefer red meats in any form.I have been asked about it many times and answer is simply,my taste buds doesn’t agree with it and i have no desire to pursue that.There are so many food choices.Let me tell you what happened.
