Whole Wheat Cake donuts
Yesterday after the school drive back home was rough.I picked up Ms A and she started crying.I asked what happened. Her answer was ‘She wants donuts.”I do not understand how does that happen.I mean really, crying?for donuts ?It is strange to me.Two days, this past week, she came home with her face red and green, eating class birthday party cupcake. So my guess was, lack of sugar at the end of the day had rather dramatic impact on her..so much so,that her little brother joined in the fun and i had full blown music to my ears.
During that period,i promised them that i will make donuts at home.Actually i was wanting to make donuts for quite sometime but that moment sorta solidified the procrastination to action.Things that you do for your kids.I am madly in love with my kids,i know you can’t see it always but i am.
Last time i made these donuts,i used all purpose, butter etc and i was good..i wanted to give a healthy twist. It is oxymoron, isn’t it?
- These donuts are cake donuts, baked.Traditional donuts are fried dough balls, glazed with sugar, chocolate, sprinkles, you name it.Sugar and doughnuts go hand in hand.
- I like to make them in mini bite size.So you won’t feel guilty about eating multiples 🙂
- My fav kind of doughnuts are simply donut holes rolled lightly in cinnamon sugar..
- Use of whole wheat flour did not make any difference in taste. It was well liked by my kids .

- Make a glaze by adding tablespoon of milk at a time to 1/4 cup of powder sugar.Adjust the amount of sugar and milk,to reach thick flowy consistency.
